Hydroseeding
Quick germination and affordable lawn establishment using a nutrient-rich mix of seed, fertiliser, mulch and water.
Hydroseeding is a modern grass planting technique where a nutrient-rich mixture is applied using advanced equipment. It gives lawns tailored nourishment for fast, even growth at an affordable price.
Rapid germination: the slurry mixture promotes quick seed germination and robust growth.
Cost-effective: more affordable than traditional methods like sodding or seeding, especially for larger areas.
Uniform growth: even seed distribution helps create a lush, consistent lawn.
Efficient erosion control: ideal for sloped terrain and areas prone to heavy rain.
Done right the first timeIf germination falls short of agreed coverage, we come back and re-seed at no extra cost. Terms and conditions apply.
"We hired Jono and his team to hydroseed our backyard lawn. He gave us great advice over the phone before the install and, on the same day, adjusted the spray mix to suit our soil type. I left it until the end of the season, but the results were excellent after six weeks."

"A splendid job of hydroseeding an exposed bank after a subdivision. I was impressed with the way the procedure was carried out with meticulous attention to the spraying process followed by the clean-up of the equipment."

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to what most people ask before booking. If you can't see your question, give us a call on (04) 391 4742.
How much does hydroseeding cost in NZ?
Pricing depends on site size, access and seed mix. Most residential lawns in the Kapiti / Wellington region fall in a clear per-square-metre band - call us with your approximate area for a free, no-obligation quote within the same business day.
How long until I see grass?
Germination usually starts within 5-10 days in the right conditions, with full coverage in 4-6 weeks. We give you a simple aftercare guide so the lawn establishes evenly.
Do you service my area?
Yes, we cover Horowhenua, Kapiti Coast, Porirua, Wellington City and the Hutt Valley. If you're just outside, call - we can usually still help.
Is hydroseeding better than turf rolls?
For most lawns over ~200 m² hydroseeding is faster to apply and significantly more affordable than turf, with equally strong root development. Turf is best when you need an "instant" lawn for a specific event.
What if the lawn doesn't establish?
We guarantee our work. If germination falls short of the agreed coverage, we come back and re-seed at no extra cost. Terms and conditions apply.
Can you handle slopes and erosion-prone sites?
Yes - that is one of our specialties. We have completed steep bank stabilisation projects across the wider Wellington region.
